At The Floorsmith, we can work with you, your interior designer or architect to provide and fit the right flooring for the dream home that you have imagined. We can create herringbone patterns; classic parquet designs and heritage finishes with wooden flooring, for example, as well as luxurious carpets laid in a bespoke design.
Quality finishes
Whilst wood flooring is timeless, with an irresistible feel, it is important to ensure that you have the right finish. Our team will talk you through the various finishes available, such as traditional oil; invisible or matt lacquers and whether a UV protection would be beneficial for your floor’s situation within your home.
Expert preparation and fitting
At the Floorsmith, professionals fit your flooring where no detail is too trivial and always with the end result in mind.
Before laying your floor, for example, we will check the subfloor – the floor type that we will be laying your chosen product on. We know that a poor-quality subfloor will ruin the final result. We can therefore prepare your subfloor correctly, whether that’s simply ensuring that it is level or laying or replacing a damp-proof membrane. Expert floor preparation will ensure that the finished flooring effect that you were expecting is achieved.
What’s underneath?
In addition to having a correct subfloor, the use of quality underlay under carpet or similar, suitable products used underneath wood or vinyl tiles, is also essential.
Underlay provides added comfort and a superior and luxurious finish to any carpet fitting. Many underlays are now made from recycled materials if this is important to you. Ask one of our team to discuss the options with you.
Restoration and renovation
If you have a wooden floor, we may be able to sand and seal an existing floor to bring it back to life with a colour and finish to suit your needs. An eco-friendly option, this can also be useful in heritage properties where you wish to retain the character of the building without losing the aesthetic of the original floor or you are unable to remove it due to listed status.
