Expert preparation and fitting

At The Floorsmith, our employed professionals fit your flooring where no detail is too trivial and always with the end result in mind.  We understand that your commercial space is an extension of your brand image, so your flooring needs to reflect that as much as your building, team, products and services.

Before laying your floor, for example, we will check the subfloor – the floor type that we will be laying your chosen product on.  We know that a poor-quality subfloor will ruin the final result.  We can therefore prepare your subfloor correctly, whether that’s simply ensuring that it is level or laying or replacing a damp-proof membrane.

What’s underneath?

In addition to having a correct subfloor, the use of quality underlay under carpet or similar, suitable products used underneath wood or vinyl tiles, is also essential to provide a longer-lasting flooring solution, as well as comfort underfoot where needed.
Underlay provides added comfort and a superior and luxurious finish to any carpet fitting, so ideal for Board or other meeting rooms. Many underlays are now made from recycled materials if this is important to you. Ask one of our team to discuss the options with you.

Restoration and renovation

Many older buildings are now being converted into commercial spaces often with original or character features that you may wish to retain. If you want to restore an existing wooden floor, for example, we may be able to sand and seal it to bring it back to life with a colour and finish to suit your needs. An eco-friendly option, this can be especially useful in heritage properties which have listed status.
